Dallas Trip

Went to Dallas, actually Addison,  this past weekend had a blast! Got there Friday evening checked into the Intercontinental Hotel Dallas, the place is beautiful!

There is a big spacious lobby with gift and floral
shops, Starbucks, and a wonderful fountain.
The room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was very nice...I slept like a baby! On the 14th and 15th floors there is a lounge area connected by a stair case, T.V. chairs, tables, couches and with the great view, it was a wonderful place to relax.

The concierge was very helpful on Friday evening  we were looking for a nice place to get a good steak. He provided us with a dining map of restaurants that were close by and made some very knowledgeable recommendations.

He even got us a reservation at Arthur's Prime Steaks And Seafood  a very nice but at that time of the evening, busy restaurant, within 30 minutes! The guy had skills!!
I had a fantastic time, will return again, and highly recommend staying here on your next visit to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Speaking of Arthur's OMG...the food was wonderful!
We had their Mediterranean Salad, Filet Minon, with crab & shrimp and for dessert Grand Marnier Creme  Brûlée all with a very nice Cabernet.
The atmosphere was elegant yet simple and welcoming and the wait staff was incredible!
Be sure to check out the website http://www.arthursdallas.com/ and take the virtual tour!

Bob Timberlake Luggage

I am a big fan of this luggage line! It's good looking, durable, and can stand up to any "savage" baggage handler :-) No offense to our friends at the airlines.
They have been described as rugged, versatile, durable, and elegant and fit well in all those categories.

There are a large variety of sizes and shapes and comes in two lines, all leather and leather combo. There are satchels, computer bags, carry-on's, large and smaller wheeled bags, and much more!
These wonderful bags are sold at Bass Pro Shops or Bob Timberlake.com

If you travel extensively or just occasionally this will not disappoint.

Mancations:The NFL Super Mancation It’s More Than Just a Game at the Super Bowl

Did you know the first known usage of the term ‘mancation’ comes from the Romans and the Latin phrase 'Superlus Bowli?' The great Emperor Titus once decreed that...ok, fine, I made that up. But just as the Coliseum is the world’s greatest sports venue, the ultimate mancation starts and ends with the Gladiators of the Gridiron and the Super Bowl.

Few sporting events are as tourist friendly as the Super Bowl. Locations are known well enough in advance to allow plenty of time to find the best deals on travel and accommodations, saving you money to pay more for better seats at the game.

Hotel location is probably the most important part of Super Bowl week planning. A centralized location between the stadium, the media center and the downtown area is key. If done right, you can go days without setting foot in a car, let alone drive one. Traffic gets downright brutal from Wednesday to Sunday. Your crew should find a good base camp and stay local. Driving and the Super Bowl don’t mix...

Neptune's Statue Virginia Beach,Va

The Statue

Proudly welcoming local residents and visitors alike, a 34-foot, cast bronze Neptune statue stands at the gateway to Neptune Park and the threshold of the sea. Constructed entirely through the generosity of private contributions gathered by the Neptune Festival, this statue is dedicated to the city of Virginia Beach and its citizens.
Surrounded by the creatures of his realm, mighty trident in hand, Neptune’s gaze rests affectionately on the shore. His heroic visage honors the maritime legacy of Virginia Beach while also standing as a vivid reminder of the community’s duty to respect and protect our natural blessings.
The statue was dedicated to the City of Virginia Beach on September 30, 2005 during the Neptune Festival Boardwalk Weekend; it now graces the boardwalk at 31st street, overlooking Neptune’s Park.
The pictures are ones I took when I was there last year, it's a breath taking statue, you have to physically see it to truly appreciate it
Click below for more info on the Statue, it's sculptor, and the wonderful festival they have every year.

6 Tips for Wrinkle-Free Packing | Travel News from Fodor's Travel Guides

Lighten your load.
Jamming your suitcases as full as a subway at rush hour will leave your clothes as exhausted as a crushed commuter. Clothes become wrinkled almost as soon as you shove that last leaden item into your bag. The easiest things to jettison? Hairdryers and clothes irons.
Almost every hotel room (and hostel) in the world has these items to lend.

One word: Plastic.
If you remember only one word in your packing efforts, this is the one. And here's why: friction causes wrinkling, plastic reduces friction. It's that easy. The best way to utilize this basic plastic physics is with dry-cleaner bags.
All hanger items should be packed in individual bags (one outfit per dry-cleaner bag). Clothes arrive in a perfectly preserved state. Really! Another great plastic tip: zip-top baggies. Use these for dirty shoes, shampoo bottles, or anything else you want to isolate from your good clothes.
